Grapevine International Limited was established in 1989 by Roger Burnay to provide an executive service exclusively for the Hospitality Industry, worldwide. Garven McKie joined as a Director in 1997 initially looking after Central Europe, Africa, India, and the Caribbean, but more recently worldwide, utilising his vast knowledge gained as a senior manager working in the Hospitality Industry across three continents.

Garven McKie, Director has been involved in the Hospitality Industry for most of his life and it was in this environment that he spent his early years.Progressing from Chef to General Manager in his native Scotland he then worked in many countries covering three Continents.
During College he was awarded a Scholarship that enabled him to go to Germany to learn the language and work in the German Hotel Industry.On returning to the UK he worked as various Hotels as Assistant Manager, Executive Assistant Manager leading up to General Manager then with Hyatt in Sydney,Australia, Masah in Iran and Hyatt Haycyon Cove, Antigua. On leaving Hyatt he set up his own company in Antigua involving Resturant, Hotels and Food Distribution.
Returning to the Uk in 1996 he joined Grapevine International in 1997. Using his ties in Scotland to assist clients in golf operations whilst at the same time using his International connections with all levels of management to place candidates. He also has a close understanding of the Timeshare Industry.
Roger Burnay, Managing Director has extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of the Hospitality Industry in a senior management capacity at both unit and multi-unit level, nationally and internationaly. Commencing his career in the kitchens as an Apprentice Chef followed by four years management training, he quickly rose through the ranks as Assistant Manager to General Manager by the age of 23.
Following an extensive career as General Manager, he then moved into corporate management with Trusthouse Forte Hotels as Area Director for 24 Hotels for five years which led to his becoming Operations Director for Cigahotels in Italy, based in Milan. He quickly adapted to the culture and language of the country, but regrettably his family did not, so he returned to the UK setting up the Hospitality Recruitment Division for Pannell Kerr Forster Associates.
Following this period Grapevine International was born.
